Beatles Tribute Band Comes to Southlake October 11th

MeMy-Monkey-300x262Arts Council Northeast and the City of Southlake are pleased to welcome the Beatles tribute band, Me & My Monkey,  for a concert on Ocotber 11, 2014, at Southlake Town Square. The free concert will be held in Family Park from 7:30-9:00 p.m.

The two original members, George Jara as George Harrison (vocals, guitar) and Rod Bollinger as John Lennon (vocals, guitar, keyboards, harmonica) have been with the group since its inception, adding Michael Daniel as Ringo Starr (vocals, drums) and Paul Sacco as Paul McCartney (vocals, bass, keyboards) shortly thereafter to complete the line-up.

Since then, the band has traveled extensively, perfecting its world class ‘Tribute to The Beatles’ along the way. After numerous television appearances and headlining at many festivals, as well as opening for a handful of classic rock favorites in the United States (even playing with the likes of Denny Laine of Paul McCartney’s Wings and Gordon Waller of Peter and Gordon), Me & My Monkey was more ready than ever to invade the shores of the U.K. In an interview with a British pop magazine, Paul Sacco (Paul McCartney) stated, “We feel there is only one way to do this … the right way. We’ll stop at nothing to give people the feeling that they are actually seeing and hearing the Beatles live. We actually are very competitive within the band itself, as far as the attention to detail. We are our own toughest critics.”

Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Southlake present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.  For more information, please call (817) 748-8019.
