N. White Chapel Widening Project Staying on Schedule

Contractors working on the N. White Chapel widening project, between Highland Ave. and SH 114, are continuing to work on schedule.

“So far Mother Nature has cooperated with us, and the work is moving along smoothly and on or a little ahead of schedule,” said Deputy City Engineer Steven Anderson. “If the weather doesn’t interfere too much we’ll be able to make some great progress this summer.”

On Saturday, July 14, there will be a complete lane closure on N. White Chaple, from Highland Ave. to SH 114, for utility work. The closure will start around 10 a.m. and with an expected completion around 1 p.m. will all lanes reopened.

The current traffic pattern, with the temporary lane shift, will remain in place while the contractor continues to install utility infrastructure. The 12-inch water line and sanitary sewer installation are about 90% complete. Up next is the storm drain installation, set to begin in the next couple of weeks.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
