A Big Pink Splash at Johnson Elementary

Pink t-shirts, pink sweatshirts, pink hats, socks and other accessories are a common sight during the month of October. As the Carroll Dragons host its fifth annual Pink Out home football game, the effort to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer is seen district wide.

So too, at Johnson Elementary School where this year, the campus PTO raised nearly $450 in donations for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The PTO sold special JES Pink Out t-shirts and donated $2 for every shirt sold to the foundation.

This is the first year, JES PTO hosted a breast cancer awareness/ research fundraiser.
