Lady Dragons Blank Odessa in Area Round

ABILENE – The Carroll Lady Dragon soccer team added another shutout to its impressive season last Friday. The Lady Dragons blanked Odessa 4-0 in a Class 5A area playoff at Shotwell Stadium.

Carroll (21-1-1) advances to face district-mate Keller Timber Creek at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Northwest ISD Stadium in a 5A Region I Quarterfinal. Carroll defeated Timber Creek 3-0 and 1-0 during District 4-5A action this season. Goalie Jamie Phelps has produced 13 shutouts this season, including two in the playoffs.

Against Odessa, the Lady Dragons had a balanced scoring attack. Grace Cory, Allisyn Gardner, Brittany Martin and Mary Meehan each had goals. The Lady Dragons led 2-0 at halftime. Maddie Potter, Danielle Dennis, Allie Luna and Gardner had assists.
