It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s our next superhero-in-training! That’s right! You and your preschooler are invited to join us for Southlakes own SuperHero Training Academy on September 30. Help your little one as you make your own superhero costumes, practice your hero skills, and help protect Southlake from evildoers!

It’s Time for Soccer and Cheer Tots

Help your preschoolers build team and motor skills with the  Cheertots and Soccertots programs available this summer. Keep your child active and happy this summer while giving them the opportunity to grow!

Cheertots – Bluebirds (ages 2- 3)-We use a variety of fun games to develop balance, movement, and motor skills as well as listening to instructions. we introduce basic cheer leading skills and learn fun songs and chants.

Soccertots – Teddies Soccer (ages 2-3)– This class develops more advances motor skills using engaging, fun games. The goal is to improve the child’s fitness, soccer skills and athleticism.

Soccertots – Cubs Soccer (ages 4-5)– The goal of this class is to develop kicking, running control, and dribbling. It also teaches listening and following directions. The class uses a variety of fun games with a lot of physical activity.

Summer Programs for Preschoolers

The City of Southlake is inviting all preschoolers to come and join the excitement! Southlake Parks and Recreation is offering a variety of fun and educational programs for preschoolers this summer, so don’t miss out. Sign up now, class registration is limited.

Cheertots- Blue Birds (Ages 2-3): We use a variety of fun games to develop balance, movement and motor skills as well as listening to instructions. We introduce basic cheerleading skills and learn fun songs and chants. 

Cheertots- Robins (Ages 4-5):  The basics of team cheerleading are introduced. A variety of fun games are learned to introduce jumps, cheer and motion techniques. Very active and fun!

Lil’ Chefs (Ages 3-8): Lil’ Chefs is a hands on creative class where our chefs in training will learn to mix, measure, decorate and taste! We will be making edible flow pots, banana splits on a stick, homemade chicken ranch tenders, minion cupcakes, pizza pasta, daddy’s delight cookies, marvelous muffins and much more!

Kreative Kids (Ages 3-8): Imagine the fun your little artist will have creating their own masterpieces! We will create crafts like: Father’s Day gifts, handprint toucans, decorate beach towels, firecracker paintings, bottle cap magnets and bugs, shell picture frames and much more!

City of Southlake offers numerous programs for Preschoolers

The City of Southlake Parks and Recreation Department is offering a lot of options for parents of preschool age children. These programs and activities are for children as young as 18 months and up to 5 years old. You can learn more about these programs in the Spring 2016 issue of the Southlake Scene.

Opportunities range from ongoing programs such as Lil’ Chefs and Jo-Ann’s Little Dancers to single events like Superhero Snacktime and Princess Tea Party. These programs are more than just fun & games, they are also beneficial in general child development. Through these programs, preschoolers are learning new skills and being exposed to new activities while also learning to socialize with other children. It’s an all-around win for the whole family.

Mini Kickers for Ages 4-5 Begins April 21, 2014

Mini KickersCity of Southlake Recreation is ready to introduce your child, ages 4-5, to soccer in a fun, friendly and safe environment at Mini Kickers.

Practice will start Monday, April 21 and participants will meet every Monday and Wednesday at Durham Intermediate School until May 14. Through interactive drills and exercises, boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of soccer including kicking, dribbling, passing and shooting. Teamwork, sportsmanship and overall FUN will be emphasized over direct competition. Parents, be sure to join us for the last day of the season as players will get the chance to show off their new skills in the “Big Game.”

CISD Announces Preschool Details

Carroll ISD announces information about the CISD Preschool Program for the 2012- 2013 school year.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend a Preschool Information Night scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. The program will be held in the library of Carroll Intermediate School located at 1101 North Carroll Avenue. Click here to download and print the list of Carroll ISD’s 2012- 2013 pre-kindergarten eligibility requirements.

Parents can register theri student for preschool starting Monday, Feb. 6. Registration is Monday- Friday from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 17 inside the CIS library. Evening registration will be Thursday, Feb. 16 from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. in room 21 at Carroll Intermediate School. Registration packets may also be mailed to CarrollISD, 3051 Dove Road, Grapevine, TX  76051 ATTN: Ms. Debra Neal. All packets must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, Feb. 15. All completed packets are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. No walk-in registration will be accepted outside of the before mentioned dates and times or at any other Carroll ISD location.

Carroll Intermediate School is located on the corner of Carroll Avenue and Highland Street at 1101 North Carroll. The school library is located directly through the main doors of the now-closed campus. Room 21 is located on the southwest end of the building, via the Assessment Center entrance.
