Unstoppable: Dragons Continue 4-5A Dominance

The Carroll Dragons remained undefeated in District 4-5A and unloaded another impressive offensive attack Friday on Homecoming Night against Richland.

The Dragons were hardly rattled by Richland’s big play to start the game and responded with 63 unanswered points in a 63-7 victory at Dragon Stadium. Carroll improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in district as the Dragons won their fifth consecutive game. It also marked the third time this season the Dragons have scored more than 60 points. Since the opening season loss against Allen, the Dragons have outscored teams 284-17 (57 points per game average).

Richland led 7-0 and then the Dragons went to work. Dragon quarterback Kenny Hill was unstoppable accounting for six touchdowns – four rushing and two passing. He scored TDs on four of his five keepers in the game and had 127 yards. He busted loose for four TD runs in the first quarter from 13, 5, 36 and 48 yards. In the second quarter, Hill added touchdown passes to Mike Gardiner and Luke Timian. Hill was 14-of-20 passing for 277 yards.

The Dragons held another huge district lead by halftime 49-7. Backup quarterback Ryan Agnew was 9-for-10 passing with 117 yards and one TD to Ryan McGiboney. Ten different Dragon receivers had receptions against Richland (2-4, 0-3).

This week the Dragons host Northwest in a clash of undefeated teams atop 4-5A. Northwest is 5-1 overall and 3-0 in district. Northwest is coming off a 24-21 victory against Haltom.
