Municipal Courts and Records Department Changes

If you have business with the City of Southlake’s municipal court or records department next week here’s some important information for you. The City Municipal Courts and Records departments will be switching places starting Monday, August 24th.

The records department, which is currently located on the 2nd floor at 600 State Street, will move to the 1st floor and the court clerk’s offices will move from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor.

The move will allow for more space for municipal courts personnel plus provide added convenience for customers. Deputy Director of Finance Sharon Guess says, “Court and Records staff have worked diligently to make this transition as smooth as possible.  We don’t anticipate any issues but are prepared to handle anything that might arise.”

The final stages of the transition will be next Friday, August 28, 2015. It is important to note that the municipal court and records department will not be closed at any time during this transition. Personnel will be available to assist customers both in person as well as over the phone during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (*Municipal Courts contact information (817) 748-8188 and Records contact number is (817) 748-8915.)

Police Chief James Brandon expects the move to be seamless as well. “The switch will allow both municipal courts and records the ability to continue to provide excellent customer service,” said Chief Brandon.

If you have any questions, the Police Department staffs the front office on the 2nd floor with a desk officer. Just park and take the steps or elevator to the 2nd floor and proceed to the front counter.
