ARGYLE – The Carroll Lady Dragons are headed west.
The Lady Dragons blanked Hebron 5-0 in a Class 6A Region I quarterfinal on Monday at Argyle High School. The Lady Dragons advance to play in the Region I tournament in Midland.
It marked the Lady Dragons’ third victory this season against Hebron, which shares the same District 5-6A with Carroll. Texas Tech signee Ally Griffin led the way for the Lady Dragons with two goals. The Lady Dragons held a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Alli Gardner and Taylor Tufts also added goals. Goalie Madison Martin had five saves in the shutout. The Lady Dragons advance to face Wolfforth Frenship in the Region I semifinals in Midland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keller plays Marcus in the other semifinal at 2 p.m.
The Lady Dragons improved to 20-1-2 on the season.
Dragons Suffer Heart-Breaking Defeat
The Carroll Dragons’ season came to an end Monday vs. Hebron as the Hawks scored with 16 seconds left in regulation. The game was part of a playoff doubleheader at Argyle HS.
Hebron won 1-0 to advance to the region semifinals. The Dragons finished the season 15-4-3.
