FM 1938 Construction Update

Clearing of right-of-way on northbound Randol Mill (FM 1938)

Construction activity is ramping up on the FM 1938 Phase II project. Over the last few weeks, work has begun on the right-of-way area of FM 1938 as TxDOT contractors have cleared and cleaned the area north of the Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709) and FM 1938 intersection. Future work on the project will see the contractor placing temporary signals at the intersection of FM 1938 and FM 1709 in preparation of a future traffic switch and road side construction at the following locations:

  • Beam Drive
  • Kingswood Drive
  • Palomar Trail
  • Hillside Court
  • Top Rail Lane.

TxDOT currently has message boards at the project limits and will use them to announce future road work to motorists. The City will also post updates on upcoming FM 1938 Phase II construction to the City’s website, Facebook and Twitter pages. In the mean time, keep the following tips in mind when driving through work zones:

  • Slow Down
  • Always Follow Work Zone Speed Limits
  • Pay Attention
  • Be Patient
  • Plan Ahead
  • Stay Alert: Don’t Talk or Text While Driving
