Carroll Librarian Appointed to Tayshas Committee

Sarah ChaseEach year, a committee of public and school librarians from the Texas Library Association’s Young Adult Round Table select current books for a recommended reading list designed for young adult readers. The purpose of the list is to encourage young adults to read for pleasure and to become lifelong readers; the list is not designed to support a specific curriculum.

Sarah Chase, librarian at Carroll Senior High School, has been appointed to the 10-member committee for a one year term.  She will help choose the books for the list that will be published in January, 2016.  Members of the committee regularly read well over 100 novels that are nominated and then choose the top 50-60 titles that will comprise the Tayshas List.

The 2015 Tayshas List was recently released, click here to download.
