Help with an Extreme Yard Makeover – Saturday March 22nd

The Southlake Chamber of Commerce along with Highland Landscaping, SASO (Scholars and Athletes Serving Others) and the City of Southlake are putting on an Extreme Yard Makeover community event.  Details about the event are below.  For more information about the location and what kind of help (especially from businesses) is needed please call (817) 481-8200.

SASO Girl's Group Application Now Available

Creators of the local service organization Scholars and Athletes Serving Others (SASO) are holding a membership drive for the Girls Group. The 200-plus member mother-son group is now branching its membership to include mothers and daughters.  SASO is looking for young women from different interests to come together with the mentoring of their mothers to accomplish great things for the Southlake and surrounding communities.

SASO, pronounced “say so”, released applications for membership on Tuesday (10/15) afternoon and applications will close on October 31, 2013.

SASO New & Returning Member Meeting

2013-2014 New & Returning Member Information & Yearly Meeting:

Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00p.m.
Southlake Fire Station – 667 N. Carroll Ave
(Enter on the South-Side – through the fire services door – The meeting room is on the second floor)

Membership registration for both New & Returning Members is due by March 8th, 2013.

SASO is an inclusive organization that welcomes all Mothers and Sons. In order to continue to offer
quality community service opportunities for our members we will be limiting the size of our NEW members to
75 boys. While we are very proud of the inclusiveness of our organization, SASO has become a much sought
after organization. For this we want to thank our current group of 200 boys and their moms. For the 2013-2014
membership cycle all applications (including membership fees) will be date marked the day they are received at
Downey Publishing; after that we will start a wait list. So, please follow all the deadlines and make sure your
application is complete.
