Adult Athletic Leagues Available

Calling all adults! If you’ve been itching to play some football, or take a swing at a softball, now is your chance.

Southlake Parks and Recreation is offering sports programming this fall and you’re invited to join in the fun!

Adult Co-ed Softball is a great way to play the game with your friends, family, and co-workers. Register a team and be a part of the recreational league. Men’s Over 35 Softball is another option to get you out on the diamond together with your hand picked team, it’s sure to be a home-run.

Flag Football is also available in the co-ed and men’s only varieties. Register your team with up to 20 players, a six game season, leading up to the playoffs, get ready to score some touchdowns!

Youth Athletic Leagues Available for Registration!

Just because school starts doesn’t mean your child has to stop being active! Registration for Southlake’s Youth Athletic Leagues for this fall and winter is now open.

Sign your children up for one of Southlake Recreation’s Youth Athletic Leagues and keep them active and happy while playing their favorite sports!  Such as the Under the Lights Flag Football available to kids in grades 1st through 6th. Their season runs from early September to late October and will provide kids with a fun team building experience that will stick with them for the rest of their football careers.
Registration ends August 20th.

Fall Girls Volleyball, which is open to girls ages 6 – 12 is also offered. The volleyball program features practices, an 8 game season, and playoffs, giving your volleyball star the full experience! Jerseys are provided for each player and a set rotation guide is in place to make sure every player receives equal playing time!
Registration ends August 26th.

Don’t forget about Winter Basketball! This program, for kids 6 – 12, will keep your children energized and excited as they play their way through an eight game season with playoffs! An excellent team builder, Winter Basketball ensures that every player gets their chance to play on the court while encouraging friendly competition!
Registration end October 21st.

The Fall 2015 Southlake Scene is now available – and you won’t believe your eyes!

Fall 2015 Southlake SceneThe Southlake Scene has a whole new look this fall! The City of Southlake Community Services Department has spent some time over the past couple of months developing a new look and feel for the Southlake Scene and they are looking forward to hearing your feedback.  Along with the new design, readers can check out a small section on the inside cover that features 5 things you might not know about Southlake’s new Mayor, Laura Hill!

As anticipated, the Fall Scene gives readers the opportunity to mark their calendars for upcoming events in Southlake while simultaneously signing their kids up for fall and winter programs, athletics and camps!  Readers can get details on The Marq Southake, Monster Mash, Oktoberfest, Naturally Sweet and of course Home for the Holidays!  They can learn about family events like Haunted Family Campout, Masterworks Concert Series and Apex Arts League shows. There is also information about Holiday Break Camp Mania for parents along with other programs, including a new Plano Children’s Theatre assortment of acting, dance and music classes. Also new this fall is an Outdoor Survival Series which offers kids ages 10-14 the chance to learn some ultimate survival skills!

Fall wouldn’t be fall without sports right? Be sure to check out details on the newest flag football program in Southlake called Under the Lights; the City has partnered with Under Armour to bring kids in 1st through 6th grade an exciting new co-ed flag football program! There is also a new youth soccer program for young kids ages 2 – 6 called British Soccer Team Clinic, be sure to check it out if you have a little one who’s ready to tear up the field!

Mark your calendars: the 2015 Southlake Summer Scene online virtual magazine is live today! Now is the time to start planning for all the exciting camps, programs and events this summer in Southlake. There are so many options, why choose one when you can choose them all!

Online Southlake Scene Reader Tips:

You don’t want to miss this year’s Southlake Summer Kickoff on Saturday, May 30th in Southlake Town Square from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM! This free event will include live entertainment, bounce houses, raffle drawings, Rita’s Italian Ice and more!

Southlake Recreation Open House Offers Camp Discounts

Southlake Scene The City of Southlake Recreation Department is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, April 1st from 4:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m at Rustin Pavilion (1400 E Southlake Blvd) in Southlake Town Square. The event will be a kick-off for Southlake Recreation’s summer registrations.

At the Open House, you will meet the Southlake Recreation staff and learn more about the programs being offered this summer. There will also be a special discount for registering at the event. All Camp Mania and Teen Scene registrations made at the Open House will receive a 10% discount.  To be prepared, view the Camp Mania and Teen Scene camp information.

While you register for your favorite summer programs, you will also enjoy complimentary refreshments and receive summer giveaways. The first thirty registrations at the Open House will receive a hard copy of the Southlake Scene, make sure to come early.

The 2014 Summer Southlake Scene will be online April 1st, one month earlier than the normal release date of May 1st. The earlier release date was decided so that parents will have more time to plan summer activities for the family.
