Exciting New Preschool Programs Coming to Southlake Parks and Recreation This Spring

Our preschool programs are designed to help young children develop their gross and fine motor skills, learn something new and have fun with friends in a safe and supportive environment.

MusicMakers for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Journey into the world of music-making as your child explores a variety of instruments including sticks, shakers, drums, bells and tambourines.
Ages: 18 Months to 4 Years
April Dates: April 8–29 (Mondays) & April 16–23 (Tuesdays)
May Dates: May 6–27 (Mondays) & May 7–28 (Tuesdays)

Creative Movements for Parent and Me

This program helps children develop gross motor skills and music appreciation through various song and dance activities. Adults are encouraged to participate too, so be sure to wear clothes you can move in!
Ages: 18 Months to 4 Years

Bricks 4 Kidz: Jr. Engineers!

This S.T.E.M.-based preschool program offers eight weeks of learning and fun! Each class includes an engaging lesson followed by a 3D building activity using Lego Duplo bricks.
Ages: 3–5

Tap and Ballet for Preschoolers

Designed with preschoolers in mind, these classes introduce kids to the basics of ballet and tap. Instructors focus on helping little dancers develop rhythm, coordination and self-esteem.

Tumbling for Tots & Sporties for Shorties

This program teaches the fundamentals of gymnastics on a floor mat, helping little gymnasts develop flexibility and strength.

Skyhawks Mini-Hawk Multi-Sport Clinics

These skills-based clinics introduce preschoolers to a variety of sports in one setting, teaching them the rules and essentials of each sport through fun games and activities.

SoccerTots uses kid-friendly games and drills to teach young children fundamental soccer skills. Instructor-to-student ratio is kept small to encourage individual growth.
Ages: 3–4 and 5–6

SoccerTots Fall Sessions Begin September 7

Register your soccer star for lessons designed with little athletes in mind!

SoccerTots instructors use kid-friendly language and activities to teach kids the fundamentals of soccer. Classes for kids ages 3–4 focus on strengthening fine motor skills and building self-confidence, while classes for kids ages 5–6 emphasize core soccer skills and introduce an element of light competition. Instructor-to-student ratio is kept small to encourage individual growth and promote fun, fun, fun!

It’s Time for Soccer and Cheer Tots

Help your preschoolers build team and motor skills with the  Cheertots and Soccertots programs available this summer. Keep your child active and happy this summer while giving them the opportunity to grow!

Cheertots – Bluebirds (ages 2- 3)-We use a variety of fun games to develop balance, movement, and motor skills as well as listening to instructions. we introduce basic cheer leading skills and learn fun songs and chants.

Soccertots – Teddies Soccer (ages 2-3)– This class develops more advances motor skills using engaging, fun games. The goal is to improve the child’s fitness, soccer skills and athleticism.

Soccertots – Cubs Soccer (ages 4-5)– The goal of this class is to develop kicking, running control, and dribbling. It also teaches listening and following directions. The class uses a variety of fun games with a lot of physical activity.

Summer Programs for Preschoolers

The City of Southlake is inviting all preschoolers to come and join the excitement! Southlake Parks and Recreation is offering a variety of fun and educational programs for preschoolers this summer, so don’t miss out. Sign up now, class registration is limited.

Cheertots- Blue Birds (Ages 2-3): We use a variety of fun games to develop balance, movement and motor skills as well as listening to instructions. We introduce basic cheerleading skills and learn fun songs and chants. 

Cheertots- Robins (Ages 4-5):  The basics of team cheerleading are introduced. A variety of fun games are learned to introduce jumps, cheer and motion techniques. Very active and fun!

Soccertots- Teddies Soccer (Ages 2-3): This class develops more advanced motor skills using engaging, fun games. The goal is to improve the child’s fitness, soccer skills and athleticism.

Lil’ Chefs (Ages 3-8): Lil’ Chefs is a hands on creative class where our chefs in training will learn to mix, measure, decorate and taste! We will be making edible flow pots, banana splits on a stick, homemade chicken ranch tenders, minion cupcakes, pizza pasta, daddy’s delight cookies, marvelous muffins and much more!

Kreative Kids (Ages 3-8): Imagine the fun your little artist will have creating their own masterpieces! We will create crafts like: Father’s Day gifts, handprint toucans, decorate beach towels, firecracker paintings, bottle cap magnets and bugs, shell picture frames and much more!
