October 2019: Southlake Business Spotlight – Chelsea Hall

Founded in 2019, Chelsea Hall is an after-school academic learning center located at the corner of Southlake Boulevard and Players Circle which is approximately one block from Carroll Senior High.

Their mission is to provide an affordable and fun learning environment that enables each of their members to achieve his or her highest possible GPA in every class that he or she takes at Carroll High and Carroll Senior High.

Rather than try to meet the rigorous challenges of high school alone, their members reinforce their school learning within an academic support system that is more effective and about half the cost of a one-on-one tutoring program. At Chelsea Hall, their members collaborate with their peers and learn their class material in our small Group Study Sessions taught each week by their energetic and experienced teachers, or they study individually or with friends in their Study Hall with the tutoring guidance and assistance of Carroll Senior High School’s top students.

Monthly events are an essential part of the Chelsea Hall experience. These events are designed to help our members better navigate the college application and admission process with valuable tips from our expert lecturers, as well as excel in their academic experience at Carroll High and Carroll Senior High through shared experiences and advice from their student tutors, teachers, and staff members.

Their offerings include four separate services to their members: Group Study Sessions, Pop-Up Test Reviews, Study Hall, and SAT/ACT test prep. Learn more about Chelsea Hall here.

September 2019: Business Spotlight – Buon Giorno

Buon Giorno is the Business Spotlight for September 2019. The company is inspired by the rich tradition of drum roasted coffee. Their beans are sourced from South and Central America, Africa and Asia. Specialty crops from Hawaii and Jamaica are also offered when available.

They are motivated by three essentials: their lifelong admiration of Europe’s “slow” culture, dedication to excellence, and a deep desire to offer authentic hospitality. Their hope is that this is evident not only in their artisan coffee, but also saturated in the environment of their coffeehouses. It’s around this ethos they have forged lasting community.

Their coffees are individually profiled to maximize the best taste for each origin and blend. Be sure to visit them and get the very best coffee around! Learn more about Buon Giorno here.

April 2019: Southlake Business Spotlight – Shake Shack

Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan, New York to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success. Shack fans lined up daily for at least three summers which inspired the opening of a permanent kiosk in 2004.

After its launch, Shake Shack became the modern day “roadside” burger stand serving up burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more.

The kiosk instantly became known as a neighborhood fixture serving customers from all over the city, country and world fresh, simple, high-quality versions of their favorite classics. The rest, as they say, is burger history.

“We sell burgers, fries and shacks, but what we serve at Shake Shack is hospitality,” said General Manager of Southlake Shake Shack, Shannyn Taggart. “A warm community gathering place is really what we inspire to be for the communities that we are in.”

Shake Shack is proud to stand behind their mission statement which is, “Stand for Something Good” not only by providing great customer service but also serving a high-quality product.

All of their meat is hormone free, antibiotic free, vegetarian feed, ground fresh and does not come frozen. The eggs are cage-free and there is no high fructose corn syrup used in their custards, they only use cane sugar. Their food is also non-GMO.

“Standing for something good and standing for what you feed your family; we feel like that is valuable,” said Taggart.

Come visit the newest Shake Shack in Southlake Town Square located at 125 Central Avenue.

March 2019: Southlake Business Spotlight: The Old Nocona Boot Factory

The Old Nocona Boot Factory is the featured business for March’s Southlake Business Spotlight.

Now, in its century-plus history of leather craftsmanship, Nocona, Texas has been known as the “Leather Capitol of North America,” housing Justin Boots, Nocona Boots and Nocona Ball gloves.

They have revived that American spirit of determination by restoring the old factory building back to glory and bringing boots back to Nocona, Texas. Join them at the Southlake store to honor cowboy tradition, Texas history and American craftsmanship!
