Carroll Class of 2016 Graduation Friday at Dragon Stadium

Class of 2016Carroll Senior High School’s Class of 2016 graduation is Friday, June 3 at Dragon Stadium.

Commencement begins at 7:30 p.m. Seniors will report to the CSHS auditorium by 6:15 p.m. Also, a new tradition begins this year as the senior class will ride buses from CSHS to Dragon Stadium and receive a police escort down Southlake Blvd. (1709). Parents are encouraged to drop of their student at the auditorium.

Dragon Stadium gates open to the public at 6:30 p.m. See below for alternative graduation procedures for inclement weather.

Graduation rehearsal will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Dragon Stadium. Attendance is required if students are participating in the graduation ceremony.

Following Friday’s ceremony, the CSHS PTO will host Project Graduation at Main Event in Grapevine. This is a drug and alcohol free event designed to provide a safe celebration for the Dragon graduates. Project Graduation begins at 11 p.m. and ends at 5 a.m. Seniors will check-in between 11 p.m. and midnight and must have their student ID or another form of identification. Project Graduation will remain on schedule, even if Graduation is moved because of inclement weather.

Graduates must pick up their diplomas immediately following the graduation ceremony.  The diplomas will be available for students to pick up on the visitor side of Dragon Stadium.

Students, parents, family and friends are encouraged to share Graduation Day images via social media using the hashtag #CarrollGrad16. The year’s class in includes 630 Dragons.

Alternative Graduation Schedule for Inclement Weather 

Friday, June 3: In the event of rain, Commencement will be delayed until the inclement weather passes, with a start time no later than 10 p.m.

Saturday, June 4 – Make-Up Day 1: Three Possible Starts Times
*Gates open at 10 a.m. Commencement starts at 11 a.m.
*Gates open at 1 p.m. Commencement starts at 2 p.m.
*Gates open at 3 p.m. Commencement starts at 4 p.m.

Sunday, June 5 – Make-Up Day 2
*Gates open at 1 p.m. Commencement starts at 2 p.m.

Park Place Dealerships Give Dragon Fans Ultimate Opportunity

Carroll Dragon logo Trademarked 4Park Place Lexus and Park Place Motorcars Grapevine are giving one lucky Southlake Dragon fan the opportunity to kick a field goal for the chance to win a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA or a 2015 Lexus NX.  The field goal attempt will be held at the Southlake Dragons vs. Coppell Cowboys game on October 3, 2014, at Dragon Stadium.

“This is a unique opportunity for the community to have some fun and possibly drive away in a new car,” said Matt Woolsey, general manager of Park Place Lexus Grapevine.  “We love the pure enjoyment of this event for the community. It will be exciting to see the contestant attempt to win the car.”

Contestants for this event need to register at godragons.parkplace.com/southlake-field-goal/ before 12:00 p.m., October 1, 2014.  There is a maximum of one (1) entry per person.  One lucky winner will be chosen at random from all entries received and two alternates will be notified 24 hours prior to the field goal kick attempt. The field goal attempt will be held at Southlake Carroll Dragons Stadium during half time of the October 3 football game. In order to qualify for the grand prize, the contestant must successfully kick a football of regulation size over the crossbar and between the uprights of a regulation state high school goal post. Current or former Olympic, semi-professional or professional football, soccer or rugby players who have competed in the United States, Canada or Europe cannot participate.  Current or former high school or collegiate football, soccer or rugby players who have competed at that level within the past six (6) years and current or former football coach who has coached at the high school level or above within the past six (6) years may not participate.  For a list of all rules and regulations please visit http://godragons.parkplace.com/southlake-field-goal/.

Stadium Sponsors Prepare for Upcoming Home Games

Dragon football fans will have plenty to cheer about when the season begins on Friday, Augl. 30 at Dragon Stadium. Carroll hosts the Allen Eagles at Dragon Stadium, this game will also be the team’s Green Out game. Berkeys, Anchor Level partner at Dragon Stadium, will be the title sponsor for the game and will be giving away free Dragon football schedule magnets (pictured right) to fans at the gate.

The following Friday, Sept. 6, the Dragons host Midland Lee. Founding level partners Baylor Medical Center and Mike Davis State Farm will be Promotional Night Sponsors for this game. Both partners plan to provide giveaways to Dragon fans.

Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27 when Carroll welcomes Keller Central to Dragon Stadium. Anchor level partner Park Place will be the title sponsor for this game. Prior to kick off, there will be a video presentation featuring this year’s Homecoming Court and King and Queen. A special Homecoming Carnival, Parade and Pep Rally is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Southlake Town Square.

The next home game will be Friday, Oct. 25 against Keller High. This will be the Dragons annual “Pink Out” game to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. Cook Children’s Medical Center is the Promotional Night Sponsor for this year’s Pink Out game.

The final home game of the 2013 season is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8. The Carroll Dragons will host the Haltom Buffalos. Traditionally, the last home game of the season is dedicated to the senior class. This year, Senior Night will also be Dragon Youth Football night and is expected to be a widely attended event for the city and surrounding community.
