Carroll Independent School District is pleased to welcome Deana Steeber into the Dragon family. Joining the district as the new principal at Eubanks Intermediate School, she says she is honored to participate in the education of the students at Carroll. The Carroll ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Steeber in June, click here to read the story. Steeber  brings 17 years of experience in education to CISD, she spent 7 of those years as principal.

Growing up in Oklahoma, Deana Steeber succeeded in the area of science. She followed her talents and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Soon after, she earned her Masters of Education.  Also, Steeber has completed 12 doctoral hours from Texas A&M University Commerce, obtaining her Superintendent certification.

Steeber’s philosophy on education is best described in one of her favorite quotations by Lee Iacocca: “In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have.” Steeber truly regards her new position at EIS as the highest honor. When asked what she wants parents at Eubanks to know, she said “my advice would be to always remember that you were, are, and will always be your child’s first teacher.”

That is true for Deana Steeber’s own two children and students, Joseph and Hanna.  They will also become Dragons when they enroll at Carroll ISD for the upcoming school year. Hanna will be at Carroll High School as a sophomore, while Joseph enters seventh grade. Steeber’s favorite hobby is spending quality time with her husband and children. She can be seen supporting her son as he plays football, baseball and basketball. She also loves watching her daughter play softball. She has been married to Dr. Robert Steeber for sixteen years. Currently, he is the Deputy Executive Director of Administrative Services for the Region XI Education Service Center. For a family whose passion for education is a top priority, the Steebers will enjoy the tradition of excellence that Carroll strives to protect.
