Stars & Stripes t-shirts
The official t-shirt for the 2015 Stars & Stripes celebration is now on sale in the Community Services Department in Town Hall, Suite 210. This year’s t-shirt is a navy poly/cotton blend and is light weight, extra soft and comfortable! T-shirts are available in sizes youth small to adult 2xl (adult sizes come in a v-neck or crew-neck cut). T-shirts are $10.00 each. Pick one up for each member of your family to wear to the Independence Day celebration on July 3. A special thanks to All-Star Orthopaedics for sponsoring this year’s t-shirt!
If there are any remaining shirts left by July 3, the City will have them available for purchase at the Information tent at Stars & Stripes.
New this year – The Star Experience (SOLD OUT)
For the first time in Stars & Stripes history, you and your family can enjoy reserved seating in front of the Frank Cornish Park stage for prime fireworks viewing at 9:30 PM. The Star Experience, sponsored by Brio, will provide the closest seats to the live entertainment featuring, The Key West Band and Limelight from 6 – 11 PM. Not only will this area have the best seats around, but your table of four will also receive an assorted dish of appetizers and four bottles of water provided by Brio. Tickets are $50.00 and each ticket includes a table, 4 chairs, appetizers and water.
Tickets can be purchased at the Community Services office in Town Hall, Suite 210 or online here. Please note that refunds will not be available in the event of inclement weather.

Each year, a fresh design with new colors and elements is specially created for the event. The official event shirt has been very popular, with many people adding to their collection each year. Stars and Stripes holds many traditions for the Southlake community and has become one of the City’s premier events. The annual t-shirt is a great way to show your spirit for this celebration of Independence Day.
Adult shirts will be sold for $15.00 and youth shirts are $10.00. Make sure to stop by Town Hall to get your shirt as they can sell out quickly. Any remaining shirts will be available for sale on July 3rd at the event.

Carroll ISD and the Southlake community are getting ready to Relay For Life. This spring marks the fourth year the annual American Cancer Society fundraiser has come to Southlake. Relay For Life Southlake 2013 will be Friday, May 3 at Carroll High School located at 800 N. White Chapel.
Carroll ISD is a co-sponsor of the event as part of the district’s year-end Rachel’s Challenge celebration. Rachel’s Challenge is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire young people to make positive changes in their community. Relay For Life is a fun-filled, overnight event that offers everyone an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Each year, thousands of participants including Carroll ISD faculty and staff take to the track at Carroll High School for Relay. In honor of those who battle cancer 24-hours a day, team members typically take turns walking the track throughout the night for 12 hours. For those not walking, there is around-the-clock activities and fun to keep everyone busy. From entertainment, food and games to ceremonies and stories of inspiration, there is something for everyone at Relay For Life Southlake. During Relay, there will be no public parking at Carroll High School or Durham Intermediate School campuses. A shuttle service will be provided for all Relay participants. Over the years, Relay For Life Southlake has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to the American Cancer Society. Nearly 500 people have already signed up to participate, raising over $30,000 in donations. Click here to start your own team or join an existing one. New this year is the first ever district-wide Relay For Life T-shirt for the Carroll Dragons (pictured left). The short sleeved t-shirt comes in charcoal gray only and features a “Keep Calm and Relay On” slogan on the front and the Twitter hashtag #RFLsouthlake on the back. Shirts may be purchased through the Carroll ISD Communications and Marketing Department, click here to download and print the order form. CISD faculty and staff can wear the Dragon Relay T-shirt with blue jeans on Thursdays between now and May 3.
For the past two years, Carroll has provided unique “Dragons Go Red” t-shirts for staff and students to purchase. A portion of the purchase price is donated to the American Heart Association. This year, t-shirts will be available at the new Carroll ISD Administration Center located at 2400 N. Carroll Avenue in the Communications and Marketing Department. The t-shirts are the 2012 design and will be sold for a $7 donation. Adult and child sizes are varied, this limited stock will be on a first come, first served basis. With any “Dragons Go Red” t-shirt, faculty and staff can wear jeans on Wednesdays during the month of February. Staff members who wear a previous year’s shirt are encouraged to make a donation to the AHA through their campus nurse. Staff at Carroll ISD Administration building can leave their donation in a marked box at the front desk.
In addition to t-shirt sales, Carroll ISD schools are also conducting fundraisers for the AHA. Old Union, Rockenbaugh Elementary and Johnson Elementary schools will each host a “Jump Rope for Heart” event. See campus calendars for dates.
