Planning to Travel Outside the USA? Passport Day in the USA

UPDATE: While Passport Day in the USA has been canceled by federal agencies due to the sequester, this event will still take place at the City level. Some recent news stories have created some confusion so to clarify, the City of Southlake and all Tarrant County locations will host Passport Day in the USA on March 9th.

The Tarrant County District Clerk’s Office is hosting four separate Passport Fairs in Tarrant County on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications.  The Tarrant County District Clerk’s Office is joining the Department of State in celebrating Passport Day in the USA 2013, a national passport acceptance and outreach event.

U.S. citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a U.S. passport is available at the County website at www.tarrantcounty.com, or on the State Department’s website at travel.state.gov.
