Taziki’s Mediterranean Café Makes Texas Debut in Southlake July 1

Taziki's CafeKnown for its authentic Greek fare, original sauces and signature pasta, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café will open its first Texas location July 1. Located in Wyndham Plaza at 2750 E. Southlake Boulevard, suite 100, this is the 35th location in nine states. To celebrate the grand opening, a ribbon-cutting will be held July 1 at 10:30AM and the public is welcome to attend.  Greg McElroy, who recently retired as a NFL quarterback and also played at The University of Alabama and Southlake Carroll, will be in attendance to celebrate Taziki’s support of Kids Matter International and his personal friend, Bryce Saldi.

Dallas resident, J.W. Mulkin, will serve as the operating partner for the 2,600 square foot Southlake location. A Birmingham native, where Taziki’s was founded in 1998, Mulkin is excited to bring Taziki’s to his new home state and plans on opening other locations throughout the Dallas area.

“I grew up a regular customer of Taziki’s and knew that I wanted to become a part of this growing company when I heard of the opportunity to expand in Texas,” stated Mulkin. “Southlake is a city that embraces new businesses and genuinely wants to help them succeed. When you are in Southlake, you get an intimate hometown feel. The people of Southlake carry that Southern charm that we as a company believe is the foundation of our customer service.”

The restaurant concept began after founder, Keith Richards, was inspired by Mediterranean cuisine during a trip to Greece. The menu will feature freshly grilled meats, original sauces and healthy side dishes, as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options.  A best-selling dish at other locations, the Taziki’s Signature Pasta includes a bed of mixed lettuces with penne pasta and grilled chicken, tossed in homemade balsamic vinaigrette, topped with tomatoes, feta and fresh basil.

Diners may choose between rotating daily specials and fixed menu items for lunch or dinner. The Southlake location will feature indoor dining with Mediterranean-inspired décor, as well as al fresco dining on the patio. Take-out and catering options will also be available.

Taziki’s Mediterranean Café cares about making customers feel like family, but also shares a passion for charitable giving. Taziki’s takes pride in helping worthy causes through donations of food, time and funds. The Southlake location is honored to support Kids Matter International. The Texas-based nonprofit serves orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children locally and internationally.

“Every single Taziki’s location is involved with at least one charity as our way to give back to the community that supports us. We understand the importance of helping others who might not be as fortunate,” stated Mulkin, noting that the Southlake location will also make a donation to Bryce Saldi, a former Southlake Carroll High School football star who suffers from a debilitating brain injury.
