New Executive Director for Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve

The 501(c)3 organization in charge of the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve in partnership with the City of Southlake is excited to announce the hiring of Teresa Moss  as their Executive Director.

Ms. Moss has over 18 years of experience in the science education field as both an educator and director. She is the former director of the Oscar E. Monnig  Meteorite Gallery, located at Texas Christian University and most recently was involved with the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center  in Seagoville working with their Informal Education Program for the 4th through 12th grades. She is a former elementary and middle school science teacher and was a part of the environmental science adjunct faculty at TCU. Moss is both a certified Master Gardener and Composter. She is a natural fit with the organization and brings amazing value in moving the center forward in realizing the goals of its strategic plan and also expanding its community outreach and donor list. With a passion for nature preservation and environmental education, propensity for innovative thinking, and strategic planning, Ms. Moss brings exceptional talent to the Nature Center.

Debra Edmondson, President of the Board of Directors, states that “Teresa’s enthusiasm and positive energy is impressive. She has the necessary skills and experience, as well as creativity needed to provide visionary leadership to the BJNC.  We look forward to working with her to move the Nature Center forward to becoming a nature recreation destination as well as an environmental leader in the local community and region.”

Ms. Moss is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, North American Association for Environmental Education, Cross Timbers Chapter of Master Naturalists, Tarrant County Master Gardner Association, and the Texas Association for Environmental Education, to name just a few. Her education credentials include an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Science in Environmental Science (Earth Resource/Ecology Emphasis) and a Master of Education, majoring in Elementary Education (Specialization in Biology) both from Texas Christian University.
