"Touches of Hope" Art Exhibit to Raise Cancer Awareness Opens September 8

The Southlake Arts Council and APEX Arts League are partnering with Texas Oncology to present the Touches of Hope art exhibit. The exhibit illustrates hope and inspiration for cancer awareness through a visual medium. Artwork will be on display in the Southlake Town Hall Lobby from September 8 through October 31.

The exhibit will debut with a gallery reception on Sunday, September 8, from 3:00 p.m. 4:30 p.m. in Southlake Town Hall Lobby. Both the reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.

The reception will include musical performances by Bruce Wermurth and The Better Brass Quintet, as well as a special performance of “It Was You” by Shannon Kincaid, one of the contributing artists.  These performances will be dedicated to cancer survivors.

During the reception, Trish Biddle, artist of the exhibit’s featured promotional piece, Fabulously Fierce, in addition to the 9 other contributing local artists will be recognized for their work. Representatives from the Southlake City Council, Southlake Arts Council, APEX Arts League, and Texas Oncology will be present to honor these artists as well.
