We're excited to share that the North White Chapel — Kirkwood Branch Bridge Replacement project was completed on time and on budget. While crews will take care of final touches like landscaping in the coming weeks, the bridge is ready for you to use and enjoy. Thank you for your patience as we partnered with Denton County to make this improvement happen!

We’ve made serious progress on the North White Chapel – Kirkwood Branch Bridge Replacement project, with the contractor completing bridge shafts, columns, walls, and paving on the project’s south end. Now we are ready for the next big milestone - tentatively scheduled for the end of July!
Here’s what you need to know: Contractors will deliver TEN massive support beams that will eventually hold our newer, stronger bridge, specifically designed to withstand heavy storms and flooding that the old bridge couldn’t. To put the strength of this bridge into perspective, each beam is 100 feet long—approximately the length of three full-sized school buses—and weighs a whopping 41 tons!
Due to the beams’ size and weight, deliveries will be made during daylight hours with the help of Southlake DPS to ensure everyone's safety. The Connect Southlake team is working diligently with bridge contractors to finalize dates and times that will have the least impact on traffic. Please stay tuned for more details!
Have questions or feedback? Let us know through our Southlake Serves portal! For more information about the project, visit the North White Chapel webpage. Thanks for your patience as we complete the next milestone in the project.
