Become a Chess Wizard in Southlake’s November Chess Camp

Chess is more than just a fun and challenging game—it’s also a great workout for your brain! Southlake’s November Chess Wizards camp begins Tuesday, November 6.

Chess offers a number of benefits for children. According to Parents Magazine, the strategic nature of chess helps children refine their critical thinking and decision-making skills. It’s also been proven to have positive effects on visual memory, attention span and spatial-reasoning ability.

Chess Wizards is a premier chess camp that provides fun, accessible and challenging chess lessons to kids ages 6–16. As students learn the fundamentals of the game, they will also develop important skills that will help them throughout their lives: how to use logic to make strategic decisions, how to win graciously and how to accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship.

All skill levels are welcome, and students will be divided into appropriate groups according to their chess experience. At the end of camp, each student will have had the opportunity to participate in a mini chess tournament.
