Here are some of the many calls and incidents we responded to for the week of July 29th through August 4th, 2022:
–Officers were dispatched to a reckless driver call and located a vehicle with a driver passed out behind the wheel on the Highway 114 service road. They deployed stop sticks and arrested the driver for their 6th DWI with 3 prior convictions.
–Officers did a welfare check on victims who were scammed out of $500,000.
–Overnight, a car had been egged and a criminal mischief report was completed.
–Officers found a wrong way driver on Highway 114, traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes at 65mph. Officers strategically were able to stop the driver near Grapevine and arrested them for DWI. Arrestee spit in the face of an officer and charged with Harassment of a Peace Officer.
–Officer arrested a DWI on North Carroll. The same driver had been arrested for DWI in Southlake on June 14th.
–There was a hit and run report completed from the McDonald’s drive-through lane.
On July 31st, officers were dispatched to 500 South Nolen on a burglary in progress call. A security guard stated that the front glass doors had been broken and they heard a loud banging on the back door, seemingly from a baseball bat.
Officers created a perimeter but found no one inside. They located lighter fluid, charcoal, and napkins at the front of the building. Video showed a shirtless white man in capri jogger pants lurking near the front entrance and setting the fire starter down. He then threw a rock through the glass windows.
Based on the security footage and past similar incidents, detectives and officers believe they have identified the suspect.
