Rangers Welcome Dragons to The Ballpark

The Texas Rangers welcomed the Dragon Community to the Ballpark in Arlington Monday, May 23 for their annual Carroll ISD Appreciation Night. The Rangers played the Chicago White Sox and won the game 4-0.

Carroll Campus Teachers of the Year were honored in a special pre-game ceremony. All 11 teachers were escorted to the field as their names were read over the loud speaker and faces were shown on the giant video board. This year, Rockenbaugh Teacher of the Year Rebecca Whittle was randomly selected to throw out the first pitch. Following the ceremony, the teachers were taken to a special hospitality suite to enjoy the game. Members of the Carroll Choir also attended the game and were escorted to center field to sing the National Anthem.

The Texas Rangers also offered one complimentary ticket for every Carroll student who attended the game as well as discounted ticket prices for members of the Carroll community who wanted to attend. For every discounted ticket purchased, the Texas Rangers donated $2 to Carroll ISD’s general fund. Last year, CISD received $424 from the ball club.
