The City of Southlake and Republic Services are pleased to offer curbside leaf recycling for Southlake residents. It’s a great opportunity to place your bagged leaves on the curb and have them picked up for recycling rather than ending up in the landfill.

“While residents can dispose of leaves through the trash stream year-round, this annual program is an excellent and sustainable alternative each season,” said Assistant to the City Manager Lauren LaNeave. “This program aims to reduce the amount of valuable landfill space that is used up by yard waste, which removes nutrients from the environment and impacts our trash rates.”

How to participate

To contribute to this recycling effort, please place your bagged leaves at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the collection days below. Leaves should be bagged leaves using any type of bag, and physically separated from other solid waste. Acorns, twigs, and other materials may be raked up with leaves, but please make an effort to limit the additional debris included in the bags. Full bags of acorns, twigs, or limbs will not be collected through this program.

This year’s leaf recycling dates are as follows:

  • Wednesday, November 18, 2020
  • Wednesday, December 2, 2020
  • Wednesday, December 16, 2020
  • Wednesday, January 6, 2021
  • Wednesday, January 20, 2021

Looking for more options? Southlake residents can drop off their leaves and grass clippings year-round for recycling at the Arlington Landfill at no charge. For more information, please contact the Arlington Landfill.
