There’s nothing better than going outside and playing on a playground during this beautiful fall weather.

With so many amazing playgrounds to choose from, there’s no better way to get the inside scoop than from an actual Parks employee. We asked our Parks Contracts Administrator, Junior Camacho, to tell us all about his favorite playground in the City. It’ll come as no surprise to any Southlake playground enthusiast that Junior’s playground of choice is the Juggernaut of all playgrounds—The Bicentennial Park Playground!

The playground at the award-winning Bicentennial Park has it all, according to Camacho. “From racing against a friend down the zip lines, sliding down the best slides in the U.S., to inhaling the cooling mist from our friendly dragon’s nostrils!” This playground has a world-class feature for everyone in the family to enjoy. It’s no surprise that the Parks guys take so much pride in ensuring our playgrounds are the premier playgrounds around. You might even spot them trying out the playground features themselves— to make sure everything is in tip-top shape, of course!

While the Bicentennial Park Playground is a crowd-favorite, there are a total of 14 playgrounds to choose from in Southlake. When asked to dish about his park hidden gems, Junior recommended Lonesome Dove Park. Lonesome Dove Park “is hidden in the northern pocket of the City near N Carroll and Burney Ln. The park has a leisurely walking trail around the park and offers big open spaces for pick-up games of your favorite field sports. It also boasts a state-of-the-art playground and a large, rentable pavilion with two accessible grills!”

Fall is the perfect time to explore all the different playgrounds Southlake has to offer. Plan to visit all 14 with your family. You may even spot a Parks guy having fun!
