At Tuesday’s (8/16/2022) City Council meeting, Council approved an ordinance that reduces the speed limit on North White Chapel Boulevard from 40 mph to 35 mph.

This change will take place at the south portion of North White Chapel Boulevard between Southlake Boulevard and SH 114.

“Reducing the speed limit was in line with the design of the four-lane divided highway that was mentioned in the Master Mobility Plan,” Director of Public Works Rob Cohen said, “The reduced speed combined with minor signing and striping modifications would also alleviate any sight visibility concerns.”

Message boards are on North White Chapel to let drivers know about the change. After a grace period, Southlake Police will begin enforcing the new speed limit August 24, 2022.
