City of Southlake Kicks Off Road Construction Projects

More road work is underway! To improve mobility and reduce traffic congestion, the Southlake Mobility Team has scheduled several road construction projects around the city.

Drivers should expect temporary and alternating lane closures so workers can access the roadway facilities fully. We advise all commuters to plan and allow extra time for their journey.

Here’s the list of ongoing and upcoming road reconstruction projects:

Creekside Drive

Construction will continue for roadway improvements at Creekside Drive as part of an ongoing capital improvement program project. Contractors will be working in the area from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., on weekdays. Alternating closures will take place during this time, with work mostly impacting the northbound lane. One lane of traffic will remain open. Residences will be provided with temporary driveway access. Construction is expected to last through early Spring 2023, weather permitting.

 

Dove Creek Trail and Mission Drive Drainage Improvements

Construction for the Dove Creek Trail and Mission Drive Drainage Improvements Project will start on Monday, January 9, 2023. Traffic along Dove Creek Trail and Mission Drive will be temporarily affected. There will be a hard closure at the culvert crossing, lasting approximately four to five weeks to install a storm line crossing. There will be a detour through Saratoga Drive for Dove Creek Trail, and for Mission Drive, there will be a detour through San Saba Drive. This project is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2023.

Central Avenue Striping Improvements

Contractors are set to begin work on the Central Avenue Striping Improvements Project on Monday, January 16, 2023. Traffic along Central Avenue from SH 114 East Bound Frontage Road to Main Street may experience temporary road closures. This work is expected to be completed Friday, January 20, weather permitting.
