When it comes to mobility projects in Southlake, N. White Chapel is the first thing that comes to mind. The project started in 2018 with the initial goal to improve mobility in Southlake. The project included widening N. White Chapel from Emerald to SH 114 by turning it into a 4-lane thoroughfare divided with a landscaped median complimented by a dual-lane roundabout located at the intersection of N. White Chapel and E. Highland. The dual-lane roundabout was completed in Spring of 2020 but work on the east end is still ongoing. Over the last few weeks, contractors are currently installing an underground storm drainage system at West Chapel Downs while continuing construction of the retaining and screening wall system. The estimated cost of the N. White Chapel widening project is $17 million. The project is estimated to be completed by Spring 2022.
