The community is invited to the 9th Strokes for Art in the Square on February 19, 2023. Guests will gather for a reception with refreshments in the foyer of Southlake Town Hall from 5-6:30 p.m.

The Southlake Women’s Club Foundation will present the Northeast Tarrant County charities selected as the 2023 beneficiaries during the reception. The showcased artwork of the nine featured artists offers samplings of the outstanding creatives that can be found April 28-30. The 23rd event t-shirt artwork designed by Niki Gulley will also be unveiled.

Voting begins for the 2023 The People’s Choice in late February. The community can cast a vote at Southlake Town Hall or on the city’s website for their favorite featured artist. Voting will end April 7, 2023.

Strokes is co-sponsored by the Southlake Arts Council, Apex Arts League and Art in the Square/Southlake Women’s Club.

Apex Arts League kicks off the 2023 concert season with performances by Pianist Mikhail Berestnev and Violinist Eunice Keem in the Chamber Music of France concert.

Both musicians will bring their unique talents together as they serenade the audience by performing works by Debussy and Ravel.

Keem is the associate concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony and a dynamic, engaging violin soloist.

Berestnev has been described as an astonishingly gifted pianist with flawless technique, constant inspiration, and superb sonority.

The concert will be held in Grace Chapel at White’s Chapel Church on Sunday, January 15, at 5 p.m.

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Sounds of the Season Holiday Concert
Join the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Apex Arts League for their annual Sounds of the Season holiday concert at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Assistant Conductor Taichi Fukumura will lead this program of holiday favorites, including Selections from the Jingle Bells Forever, Selections from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Sleigh Ride, and more.

This Sounds of the Season holiday program will take place on Tuesday, December 20 at 7:00 PM at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Tickets are $10 for children and $25 for adults, with discounts available for Seniors and Apex members. Calling all cinematic soundtrack lovers! The APEX Arts League is pleased to present a concert you don’t want to miss, Joslin: A Night at the Movies.

Apex Arts League is pleased to welcome the Dallas Bach Society to northeast Tarrant County for a chamber orchestra concert on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Chapel at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

The Dallas Bach Society will present three of the great masterworks by Johann Sebastian, featuring the baroque flute, strings, and harpsichord.

All works will be performed using exclusive period instruments, as well as sounds and techniques used during the composer’s era.

UPDATE: May 13, 2022: Avant Chamber Ballet and Apex Arts League present a free performance of Peter and the Wolf with live music on May 15th at 2 p.m. inside the ballroom at The Marq Southlake. The show is family-friendly and welcomes all ages!

The performance will include Paul Mejia and Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, plus classical ballet excerpts from Glazunov’s Raymonda and new works by Katie Puder and Eugene Barnes III. Pianist Mikhail Berestnev will accompany the dancers from Avant Chamber Ballet and Avant Chamber Ballet Trainees, ACB's second company.

“We are so excited to present our free spring concert with Apex again this year,” says ACB artistic director Katie Puder. “This performance is a perfect one-hour show for the family to enjoy the outdoors and introduce children to the performing arts.”

The performances are presented by Apex Arts League and made possible by the City of Colleyville, the City of Southlake, Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
