Congratulations to Southlake Police Officer Jonathan Macheca on his recent promotion to Corporal. Corporal Macheca has been with the Southlake Police Department for 5 years and has served in patrol and most recently as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
Corporal Macheca is not only a talented and dedicated professional but he also has a “can do” attitude and sets high standards for himself and the department. He continually works to hone his talents, skills and expertise in law enforcement and recently trained and qualified to become the newest member of the regional SWAT team. He has also been attending college to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
Macheca’s accomplishments are quite an amazing feat especially considering he is also a husband and a father of four. He met and married his lovely wife Margaret while serving in the Coast Guard and together they are raising four children ages 10, 7, 4 and a one year old.
Corporal Macheca has a long history in protecting and serving others. His unit in the Coast Guard was responsible for protecting and securing all waterways and ports whenever President George W. Bush, Jr. flew to and from Washington, D.C.
Macheca enjoys his career with the Southlake Police Department very much but has also set his sights on the Secret Service. Macheca says, “I have always wanted to be a part of the Secret Service and I think my service in the military and in law enforcement have prepared me well. It’s definitely a goal that I hope to reach some day.”
Corporal Macheca will transition from CID to patrol within the next few weeks. Congratulations again!
