Call A Ride of Southlake, Inc. (CARS) will host its 4th Annual First Tuesday Benefit at Fish City Grill Southlake on October 7, 11:00am to 9:00pm. Fish City Grill will donate 15 percent of all sales – including lunch, dinner, to-go orders and catering – during the October 7 fundraiser.
“Enjoy a great meal knowing that 15 percent of the purchase will be going towards supporting CARS and their efforts to provide transportation for our local senior citizens and disabled adults,” said Dave Garner, co-owner of Fish City Grill and local resident.
CARS is a volunteer organization which provides vital transportation for medical appointments and other approved purposes in and around Southlake. Board members will be in attendance at this event and will be available to provide further information about the nonprofit which has been providing service since 2000.

Dave and Mary Garner, owners of the popular Wildwood Grill in Southlake, were looking to expand their restaurant portfolio, but they didn’t have to go far. In fact, just across the parking lot in Wyndham Plaza to Fish City Grill, where they became the new franchise owners in January.
According to Dave Garner, who is currently acting as general manager and overseeing daily operations at Fish City Grill, it was an easy decision to expand their presence in the Southlake dining scene.
“We have been franchisees of Fish City Grill since 2005 and love being here in this community,” says Garner, noting they also operate a location at Firewheel Town Center in Garland. “It was a natural fit for the franchisor and when the opportunity for us to get this location came up, we jumped at it.”
Since taking over the Southlake location, Garner has hired new staff and completed a $50,000 renovation that includes new paint, artwork, booths and tables, and new equipment to improve the kitchen and bar operations. In addition, new furniture, signage and plants have been placed outside the front entrance for a more welcoming appearance.
The menu also got a makeover with new, seasonal additions such as crawfish, Gulf and east coast oysters on the half shell, and other fresh seafood selections. However, many popular favorites remain on the menu including fish tacos, Gulf shrimp and the renowned oyster nachos which are featured every Wednesday for $5.00. Also popular are the weekly chalkboard specials that range from all-you-can-eat Alaskan snow crab to sea scallop with lemon scented rice and marinated sliced tomatoes.
“Fish City Grill is a nice complement to what we offer at Wildwood Grill and Mary and I are committed to bringing the same high level of service and our personal touch to Fish City Grill,” Dave comments, noting the restaurant has already catered an event for Southlake Style magazine and is participating in other community activities.
