As you know, we are ramping up for another incredible Spring season, and we need your help to make this one the best yet!

If you love sports, want to give back to your community, or are looking for a creative way to earn volunteer hours, then becoming a volunteer coach is the way to go! We are looking for energetic teens and adults to coach our spring athletic leagues. Becoming a volunteer coach is the best way to support our teams for those that love working with kids or have a sporty teen at home who has natural leadership abilities!

Coaching requires 2-3 hours of your time each week. Through this minimal commitment, you can mentor your team to victory while passing on the incredible values of teamwork, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Volunteer coaching is a fun and rewarding way to serve our youth.

The Spring Flag Football Season begins on March 23 and runs through May 19.

The Spring Volleyball Season starts on April 1 and ends on May 20.

If you are interested in applying to coach, contact the Athletics Supervisor, Jonathan Weeks.

October E-Sports
Athletics hosted its second E-Sports event on October 26! This program attracted 20-25 teens to play NBA 2K23, Madden 23, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Participants enjoyed eating pizza, hanging out with friends, playing games, and dropping touchdowns and 3-pointers! Their feedback suggested that teens would enjoy more events like this in the future. Our Athletics team is already working on re-introducing teen programming for our residents.

The athletic season isn't over yet! The Athletics Team is now turning its attention to Winter Basketball. Congratulations to the Athletics staff that made Volleyball, Flag Football, and E-Sports such a success, and best of luck with Basketball! Our Southlake athletes are lucky to have such a dedicated team.

The Under Armour Under the Lights Flag Football program is one of our incredible Athletics programs available to our community.

Under the Lights Flag Football, powered by Under Armour, is a national youth flag football league for kids in K-8th grades. Fun is guaranteed, and they emphasize promoting a competitive, confidence-building, non-contact experience for boys and girls of all skill levels.

After a fun and challenging summer season, our teams headed to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Our Flag Football teams competed in the 2022 Under the Lights Flag Football National Championships from July 22-24, 2022. Two of our Southlake teams took home the Championship Title this year.

The Miami Dolphins, coached by Ryan Aldridge, finished 7-1 in their Division and won the 3-4th Grade Playoffs in dominating fashion with a 35-0 win over the San Francisco 49’ers, a 42-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys, and a 41-6-win vs. the Baltimore Ravens in the Championship game.

The New England Patriots, coached by Doug Phillips, finished division play 8-0 and won their two games (after a first-round bye) 26-20 over the Las Vegas Raiders and 18-0 over the Dallas Cowboys in the Championship game.

We are proud of our Southlake-based teams for taking home the Championships this summer! The fun’s not over yet, however!

Registration for Fall 2022 Under the Lights, presented by Southlake, is now open for registration. The season runs from September 10- October 29, 2022. The playoffs will take place on November 5, 2022. Claim your spot before August 15. Register here!
