The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Returns to Southlake for Sounds of the Season

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will return to Southlake on Thursday, December 19  at 7 p.m. to perform at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church for a holiday concert celebrating the season.

FWSO Conducting Fellow, Alex Amsel will lead the orchestra in an array of holiday favorites including Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” and “Sleigh Ride,” Guaraldi’s “Charlie Brown Christmas,” amd selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and a holiday sing-along. The program, titled Sounds of the Season, is presented in partnership with the Apex Arts League.

This concert begins will be performed without intermission. Tickets can be purchased by calling the FWSO Ticket Office at 817-665-6000, by visiting www.fwsymphony.org.

Associate Conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Jacob Joyce, will lead the orchestra in an array of holiday favorites such as Bugler’s Holiday, It’s Christmas Time, A Christmas Festival, Sleigh Ride, selections from Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B Minor, BWV 1067 and more.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Frontier to Perform Suite from the Firebird in Southlake

In partnership with Apex Arts League, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will return to White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake to perform a family concert featuring the Suite from the Firebird by Igor Stravinsky on Oct. 21 at 6 p.m.

Dancers from Ballet Frontier of Fort Worth will accompany the orchestra during the performance. The ensemble will also be performing Benjamin Britten’s, “The Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra.”

Apex Arts League partners with FWSO to bring the music of Harry Potter films to Southlake

There’ll be wand-waving of a different sort during the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Halloween-themed concert on Sunday, October 22, 2017, when Associate Conductor Alejandro Gómez Guillén leads the orchestra in musical selections from the Harry Potter films. This family-friendly concert will take place at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake and include an instrument petting zoo provided by Music & Arts for children to try out different orchestral instruments.

Magic wand in hand

Halloween with Harry Potter—presented in partnership with the Apex Arts League—will include orchestral music from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, featuring music by Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams.

Concert-goers are invited to attend in their Hogwarts-regalia or their muggle clothes. This concert begins at 6:00 PM in White’s Chapel UMC, Southlake on Sunday, October 22, 2017. The instrument petting zoo will begin one hour earlier at 5:00 PM. Prices are $10 for children and $20 for adults, with discounts available for Apex members. Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra to Perform an American Salute in Southlake

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will perform “An American Salute,” a concert of musical patriotism, on May 26, 2017 at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Associate Conductor Daniel Black will lead the orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, John Williams’s Summon the Heroes, Unger’s Ashokan Farewell, a medley of American marches, and much more.

“These concerts allow us to offer a small token of appreciation to our armed forces and to bring the community together with a selection of music that most people know and love,” said Daniel Black. “It’s important for the orchestra to maintain an active presence outside of Bass Performance Hall, and I think the Symphony does an excellent job of bringing these sorts of community programs to the public.”

This family-friendly performance will take place at 7:00 p.m. in White’s Chapel United Methodist Church at 185 South White’s Chapel Boulevard in Southlake, TX, 76092. APEX Presents FWSO’s Peter and the Wolf

APEX_logo200The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is excited to present the classic tale of Peter and the Wolf at White’s Chapel on Sunday, January 17.

Join Peter and his friends in the big green meadow outside Grandfather’s house as they try to outsmart – and catch! – the hungry wolf.

FWSO Assistant Conductor Daniel Black and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra team up with special guests Kids Who Care, for a performance everyone in the family will enjoy!

Come early and experience the instrument petting zoo sponsored by Music and Arts. Children can see, hear, and touch the different instruments of the orchestra.

Stay after the concert and enjoy treats provided by APEX Arts League! Tickets are $10 per person (youth and adult). APEX members are $8.

The Probably Untrue Story of Mary (who) Had a Little Lamb!

Join FWSO Assistant Conductor Daniel Black, narrator Carl Johnson, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra for The Probably Untrue Story of Mary (who) Had a Little Lamb! Composer Micah Levy’s reimagining of the classic nursery rhyme follows Mary and her little lamb, Petunia, on an adventure through the woods. Their story is set to musical variations of the familiar tune “Mary Had a Little Lamb”.

Bring the whole family! Come early and experience the instrument petting zoo – where children can see, hear, and touch the different instruments of the orchestra. After the concert, enjoy treats provided by Central Market.

Adult tickets are $20 and children 12 and under are just $5. Seniors, students, and APEX members are $15.
