Demonstrations and Displays
In addition to an opportunity to view some of the premier gardens in Southlake, the Southlake Garden Tour traditionally strives to provide tour participants with information and understanding of responsible gardening related practices. To achieve this goal, Tarrant County Master Gardeners will be in each garden to answer questions. Experts on related topics such as mosquito prevention and control, water conservation, pond management, tree selection and care will also be on hand. Radio personality Marilyn Simmons will be available to address visitors questions on square foot gardening.
City of Southlake Emergency Management Coordinator Kyle Taylor will also be at the Garden Tour distributing important West Nile Virus preparedness and prevention information. The West Nile Virus tent will be located in the front yard at 710 Deer Hollow Blvd and will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about the West Nile Virus and how to Fight the Bite, please visit www.CityofSouthlake.com/WestNileVirus
