Members of the Southlake Senior Activity Center are invited to attend The Dallas Opera’s 2014 AT&T Stadium Simulcast of Italian Composer Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville on April 11, 2014. The Southlake Senior Activity Center bus will depart from the center at 5:00 p.m. and return at 11:30 p.m. (Please note the return times are subject to change).
In this 17th century romantic comedy, the cunning Count Almaviva peels away his nobility and wealth in pursuit of true love. Through a series of disguises, personas, traps, and haircuts, he and his barber/accomplice, Figaro, show the audience why many consider The Barber of Seville to be the quintessential comedic opera.
At 7:00 p.m. prior to the free live performance, The Dallas Opera will present a 1950 animation masterpiece from Warner Brothers Classics, “Rabbit of Seville,” starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. Attendees will enjoy “Rabbit of Seville“ and the complete live performance of The Barber of Seville on one of the world’s largest high definition video board structure, with four massive viewing screens.
The transportation cost for this event is $3.00; all other costs (food and concessions) are not included. Participants 55+ can register at the Southlake Senior Activity Center located at 307 Parkwood Drive. Please call (817)748-8315 if you would like more information.
