Mini Kickers Spring Session Starts Monday, April 29, 2019

Mini Kickers introduces kids ages 4–5 to the fundamentals of soccer using creative activities and games.

Preschoolers practice dribbling a soccer ballOur fun instructors teach little athletes basic soccer skills while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, following directions. Don’t miss the last day of class when players show off all the skills they’ve learned in the Big Game!

Exciting New Preschool Programs Coming to Southlake Parks and Recreation This Spring

Our preschool programs are designed to help young children develop their gross and fine motor skills, learn something new and have fun with friends in a safe and supportive environment.

MusicMakers for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Journey into the world of music-making as your child explores a variety of instruments including sticks, shakers, drums, bells and tambourines.
Ages: 18 Months to 4 Years

Creative Movements for Parent and Me

This program helps children develop gross motor skills and music appreciation through various song and dance activities. Adults are encouraged to participate too, so be sure to wear clothes you can move in!

Bricks 4 Kidz: Jr. Engineers!

This S.T.E.M.-based preschool program offers eight weeks of learning and fun! Each class includes an engaging lesson followed by a 3D building activity using Lego Duplo bricks.

Tap and Ballet for Preschoolers

Designed with preschoolers in mind, these classes introduce kids to the basics of ballet and tap. Instructors focus on helping little dancers develop rhythm, coordination and self-esteem.

Mini Dribblers Fall Sessions Begin October 15

Does your little one love basketball? Don’t miss out on Southlake’s popular basketball skills class designed just for young kids!

Mini Dribblers introduces children ages 4–5 to the game of basketball by teaching the fundamentals of the sport. Little athletes will learn how to dribble, shoot, pass and more in a safe, supportive and well-supervised environment. Coaches use kid-friendly games and drills to help kids build their basic basketball skills, improve their coordination and practice good sportsmanship.

Be sure to bring your camera to the last day of the season when players show off everything they’ve learned in the Skills Showcase!

Superhero Training Academy Now Accepting New Recruits

Southlake is in need of heroes! Is your kiddo ready to answer the call?

It’s a bird, it’s a plane—it’s our next superhero-in-training!

Join Southlake Parks and Recreation for a morning packed with more fun and action than the latest Marvel movie. We’ll start by making our very own superhero costumes, then we’ll show off our superhero skills as we protect Southlake from evildoers. When our recruits soar out of Superhero Training Academy, they’ll be ready to fight injustice wherever their powers are needed!

Countdown to Kickoff: Mini Huddle Fall Sessions Begin September 10!

Southlake’s popular youth program uses fun games and drills to introduce kids to the fundamentals of football.

Mini Huddle teaches children ages 4–5 how to pass, receive, defend, rush and other fun non-contact football skills in a safe and well-supervised environment. Instructors emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship and overall fun over direct competition. Don’t miss the last day of the session when players demonstrate their new skills in the Skills Showcase!

Registration is $45 and includes a jersey, trophy and youth-sized ball.

Silly Science

Eureka! It’s time to discover wacky ways to perform ooey gooey, wonderfully colorful and sky-high erupting science experiments.

Our Silly Scientists, preschoolers ages 3 to 5, are invited to learn how to perform amazing science experiments and to play science themed activities. We will even have an experiment to take home!

Silly Science registration fee is $15, and the program will meet from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, at the Southlake Activity Center, 607 Parkwood Drive. Come dressed as a scientist ready to begin experimenting with Silly Science!

Superhero Training Academy

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s time for our next superhero training academy! Join Southlake Community Services as we work together to protect Southlake from evildoers.

Are you ready to learn how to be a superhero? We would like to invite you for an exciting morning full of superhero action. First we will create our own superhero gear, then we will practice our superhero skills, and finally, we will test our powers with fun games and activities. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to show that you have what it takes to be a superhero!

Summer has ended, but keep the excitement of summer rolling into fall for you and your preschooler. Children ages 3 to 5 years old can join us at the Bicentennial Park Playground on September 22 from 9:30am-11:00am for an action packed program.

The registration fee is $15, and you can register your child online or at the Community Services office located at 1400 Main St, Suite 210.

Southlake Recreation Preschool Programs to Kickoff the Fall

The City of Southlake is inviting all preschoolers to come and join the excitement! Southlake Parks and Recreation offers a variety of fun and educational activities to keep your preschooler active.

Mini Dribblers (Ages 4-5): This program will introduce boys and girls (ages 4-5 years old) to the game of basketball by teaching the basic fundamentals of the sport. Participants will learn how to dribble, shoot, pass and other fun and exciting basketball skills in a well supervised environment. Teamwork, sportsmanship and overall fun will be emphasized.

Silly Science (Ages 3-5): Eureka! It’s time to discover wacky ways to perform ooey gooey, wonderfully colorful and sky-high erupting science experiments. Our science experiments include Elephant’s Toothpaste, Silly Slime, Rainbow Eruptions and more. Come dressed as a scientist ready to begin experimenting with Silly Science!

Santa’s Little Helpers (Ages 3-6): Santa needs some extra special help making presents this year! Come make a special gift to give to someone close to your heart, listen to a holiday story, play some Christmas games and make new friends.
