Subfreezing temperatures are expected this week, starting Thursday, December 22, through at least Christmas Eve. As we prepare for the cold temperatures we also want you to be weather aware.

PREPARE YOUR HOME

  • Make sure you know how to turn off your water meter
  • Protect your outdoor pipes
  • Bring your pets indoors
  • Turn your sprinklers off
  • Place your generator outside to avoid fumes
  • Expose any indoor pipes by opening the cabinet
  • Run your water to a steady drip
  • Make sure to have all your food and medical supplies ready in case of a power outage

TRASH AND RECYCLING

Republic Services is currently operating its normal schedule. The City will communicate service updates and scheduling changes through social media on this page and at www.MySouthlakeNews.com. Call the Republic Services Customer Service Center at (817) 317-2424. You can also call the City at (817) 748-8400.

UTILITIES

  • ONCOR: Oncor customers can report outages and receive updates by registering for MyOncor text alerts by texting "REG" to 66267, downloading the MyOncor App, following Oncor on Facebook and Twitter, or by calling (888) 313-4747.
  • Tri-County: Tri-County Electric is preparing for the cold weather, and residents are encouraged to use electricity wisely and conserve where possible. For energy-saving tips for winter weather, please visit https://tcectexas.com/energy-efficiency. Residents who may experience an outage can report them by texting OUTAGE to 25069.
